University of Health and Law Lille 2, France (coordinator)

At the heart of a metropolitan area of 1.5 million inhabitants, with 100 000 students, linking London, Brussels, Köln, Amsterdam and Paris, Lille 2 University is a multidisciplinary higher education institution with six faculties concerning health and laws, among which a sport faculty (FSSEP). University Lille2 is resolutely turned towards international relationships. Its International Mobility Office manages more than 250 programs of cooperation in the world. It was the first French University to adopt the European LMD teaching system. It offers a Cultural Office, personalised help for people with disabilities, the possibility to practice more than 50 sport activities, very well equipped libraries, etc.

The Faculty of Sport offers programs at master level in different specialties, among which a Sport Management option. This master is supported by doctoral studies involved in a research laboratory (ER3S, Equipe d’Accueil 4110, recognized by the HE Ministry) counting more than 50 researchers. This laboratory is taking part in numerous international research activities. Each year the International Mobility Office of the Faculty develop mobilities for students and researchers with more than 10 foreign partner universities. Agreements or cooperation for Master degrees or research programs in Sport Management and Sport Tourism are signed with Romania, Greece, Lebanon, Morocco and China Universities. By its development, Sport Tourism is a specialty in which our students find better and better possibilities for their traineeships and jobs and a wide sector of researches. Master thesis and 2 books have already been produced by students and researchers on the sport tourism topic. Two doctoral theses are developed on this topic with Shenyang University (China) and two others with Lebanon, each one with a co-supervision agreement.

At the moment, ISMAI offers 14 programs at master level in different specialties, among which are two Sport options. The masters will be supported by doctoral studies involved in a research laboratory - Human Kinetics Laboratory in the case of Sport. This laboratory is expanding their international research activities.

The International Relations Office creates mobility experiences for more than 100 students going abroad a hundred students coming in from different countries in Europe, Africa and from Brazil. There are also researchers with several foreign partner universities. Agreements or cooperation for research programs in Sport Management and Sport Tourism are signed with France, Finland , Norway , England and Spain Universities . Tourism is a specialty in which our students find good possibilities for their traineeships and jobs and a wide sector of researches. A first cycle of studies on Tourism has been launched the previous academic year and has reinforced the increasing importance of this area for the University.

The articulation between these two areas: Sports and Tourism is now assumed as a priority in what concerns different degrees of studies in ISMAI.

The aim of offering an International Master in Sports Tourism is, in fact a natural derivation of our Strategy of Internationalization.

The University of Thessaly facilities are spread over four towns in the area of Thessaly (Central Greece), namely Volos, Larissa, Karditsa, and Trikala. The administration of the University is located in the city of Volos. The University of Thessaly signed about 165 bilateral agreements with 135 European universities.

The Department of Physical Education and Sport Science was founded in 1994 and the first students were admitted in the Academic year 1994-1995. The Department of Physical Education and Sport Science offers programs at master level in different specialities. All master programs supported by doctoral studies. Also, in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science there is a research laboratory, named “Sport and Recreation Management Laboratory”. The department every year exchanges students and staff with many foreign partner universities. The Department signed about 25 Erasmus Agreements with European Universities.

The Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi is the oldest higher education institution in Romania. Since 1860, the university has been carrying on a tradition of excellency and innovation in the fields of education and research. The University is organized into 16 faculties and departments. With over 38.000 students and 800 academic staff, the university enjoys high prestige at national and international level and cooperates with over 250 universities world-wide. The University provides bachelor, master and doctoral studies. Alexandru Ioan Cuza University is a member of some of the most important university networks and associations: the Coimbra Group, EUA - European University Association, Utrecht Network, International Association of Universities, University Agency of Francophony and the Network of Francophone Universities (RUFAC).

Our partnerships offer the opportunity of experience exchanges, student and teacher mobility and of joint academic, research or strategy initiatives.

Our faculty provides bachelor and master studies, and doctoral studies not yet. Offer training for master's studies is quite large, graduates can choose to study: Management and Marketing in Sport, a master in that we have teachers from abroad who are involved (e.g. professor Claude Sobry from STAPS Lille 2, coordinator of this program), Fitness and Body Aesthetics, Leisure Activities and Extreme Sports. Also, teachers of our faculty were involved in various projects at the national level in the organization and conduct of loisir activities and sports performance.

University of Craiova, Romania

The University of Craiova was founded in 1947 and consists of 17 faculties providing programs in various fields, including studies in sports management and economy of tourism. The university offers very good conditions of study to its 32000 students for 131 fields: 62 university studies, 49 master fields and 20 doctoral studies. In order to improve the education process, a special interest was laid upon the reformation of the higher education in accordance with the European Union regulations and the development of the cooperation and collaboration with other academic institutions in the country and abroad, within the European and extra-European area. There are 10 research laboratories in the university which are accredited by the National University Research Council of Romania N.U.R.C. (C.N.C.S.I.S.).

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sport was founded in 1990. Its academic offer includes two undergraduate specialisations and six master programmes in various fields, including studies in physical education, kinetotherapy, sport and sports management. Over 50 staff members serve approximately 1700 students in full time courses. The integration in the European academic structure is carried out through cooperation programs, such as ERASMUS (bilateral agreements with more than 10 universities in Europe) and LEONARDO DA VINCI in which the faculty has already experience with 8 projects in the last 6 years and practical training agreements. The faculty members of the research laboratory were involved in 6 research projects from the N.U.R.C., some of which being cross-disciplinary.

The Sports Management program offers many practical trainings in which our students have the opportunity to collaborate with sport clubs, associations, recreational and fitness centres and other organizations.

Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FTVS UK) has had almost 60 years of its existence as one of the faculties of Charles University founded in the year 1348. Faculty offers university study programs in Physical education and sports, Physiotherapy, and Sport management. The faculty offers present as well as distance forms od study and organises also long life learning courses (incl. studies ofr “third age university”). The faculty has BC., MA., and doctoral types of studies.

The faculty is involved not only in many research projects in the Czech Republic, but has very rich international study and research contacts.. Faculty cooperates with academic, as well as non academic organizations like sport associations, public administration and private sector. Students have to participate in different internships during their studies (in public, private and voluntary sector).

Scholars of FTVS UK are involved in scientific and professional organizations and association from which some are very closed to the topics of MISTOUR. As an examples we can name European Association of Sport Management, European Sport Sociology Association and International Sport Sociology Association where problems related to sport tourism are discussed and solved.
